The Languages Company

RM Education plc has been formally appointed as contractor for the Open School for Languages project.  Work is beginning this month and the first 2 year stage will be completed by March 2011.  The Open School is a key element in the proposals of the Languages Review for revitalising languages in secondary schools.

It will produce an innovative online language learning environment which is engaging, flexible and relevant to the needs of 11 to 16 year olds. The environment will be designed to stimulate the interests of young people by allowing them to explore and learn languages on their own terms. Equally, it will equip teachers with varied, flexible, compelling and innovative content which will engage learners in languages in and out of the classroom. Further details about the consortium and its work will be available later in the summer.
