The Languages Company

This one year project in collaboration with the London School of Economics ran from November 2009 until October 2010.

The LETPP project discussed the conditions which favour policies on Multilingualism and the obstacles to their success, looking in particular at two issues –

Languages and Social Cohesion
Languages and Intercultural Communication/Employability.

The project involved

• A Seminar on Social Inclusion (18 December 2009)
• A Seminar of Languages and Communication/Employability (4 February 2010)
• Publication of a “key questions” document (March 2010)
• A Major Conference at LSE  “Unlocking the gates of languages” (15/16 April 2010)
• A Conference report and on-line consultation (June – September 2010)
• Dissemination Meetings with partners in a range of countries
• FINAL REPORT and proposals (October 2010)
